Check the classified here. Then go to the bay. Most KITS are just that, assembled one peice at a time from different sources. Look at the stuff from Jim Galli on this website he has a very good rep here, there, and everywhere. Decent is usually relative to room left on the visa.

    Chuck,

Do you mean a kit like the Bender? Or a kit as in a collection of stuff that will work together?

IMHO, A good (inexpensive) place to start is with either a Calumet metal monster or an Agfa/Ansco Universal and a 14" Commercial Ektar, Wollensak triple convertible 1A, Ilex 375mm, or Schneider Symmar. The cameras are very capable of more movements than you'll probably ever need and the lenses I've mentioned offer great optics at very reasonable (current) prices. Add three good flm holders, a tripod light meter and loupe and you're in business.

Jim at Midwest photographic is a good person to contact. I also like Igor's and Equinox. Jim Galli and Andrew Glover are good guys when it comes to shopping for lenses.

I live in Fresno, feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.

    Cheers!
