There's a thread (in Danish) about the passing of our member Flemming Sarup. Died yesterday from cancer...

    He's family stated this:

    "Farvel fra en gammel fotograf
På familiens vegne må jeg med sorg fortælle Flemmings Apug venner at Flemming gik bort den 26/12 2012.
Vi kan se at der er ubesvarede mails sendt via Apug forum, og vil derfor forklare hvorfor de er ubesvarede.

Vi ved alle at Flemming elskede sin analoge verden og det fællesskab han havde fundet på nettet

    På familiens vegne

Nethe Sarup & Peter Sørensen. "

    Translated:

    Farewell from an old photographer.

On behalf of the family I must, with grief tell the friends of Flamming, about his passing 26/12 2012
We see some unanswered mails sent to him via APUG, and hereby explain why they are unanswered.

We know Flemming loved his analouge world and the community he found on the net.

    On behalf of the family

    Nethe Sarup and Peter Sørensen"

You can find the thread here:

Flemming was a fantastic man. And mastered as no one I know, the gum printing process. He was kind and helpful. A man I looked up to!

I will miss him very much.

He also had a portfolio here on APUG - mostly with his gumprints. You must see them!

Thanks Emil for translating for the rest of the forum.

Flemming was always very encouraging and only had kind helpful things to say. I aspire to his generosity and kindness.

It's a sad day for photography, and I send my warmest regards to his family. May he rest in peace.

This is sad to hear. I did not know him; too bad to learn of Flemming only after his passing. His work is truly wonderful to see. Thanks for sharing the link.

Such beautiful work, I had not seen his portfolio before.

    Over the Mountains
    Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
    Ride, boldly ride,
    The shade replied
    If you seek for Eldorado

    Hopefully he has found it.

    Rest in peace.
