Some of you may be interested in a new website of an eclectic group of photographers from the south of England - Arena.
Members are a mix of advanced amateur enthusiasts and professionals (not exclusively analogue, although many are) with a wide variety of tastes and styles.
The site is still under construction with many members still to go online, but it does already contain over 500 images and other information.
I have initially a small gallery of assorted tree images, a little over half of which are lith prints.
    Feedback very welcome.
    Tim

Some nice images but I find it strange that so many devotees of digital find it necessary to frame their images with fake digital black and sloppy "full frame borders". If film is so great why not shoot with it?

    'So many' ?
Not so many I think on the site, but anyway these things are personal taste, as is printing analogue or digital. There are perfectly valid reasons for both. Neither is right or wrong. I print only analogue, but that's my choice. I can see very good reasons why some prefer digital or why they may incorporate any sort of border. I didn't really put this link up to open up a debate on analogue vs. digital.

Excellent find, enjoyed the site and subsequent links to other photographers.

An amusing story came from a superb landscape photographer who in his print sales page, raves on about how great his inkjets are compared to the darkroom.

When you read his biography, he found his inspiration from a father who printed in a magical darkroom with strange lights. I wonder if his own son will be inspired by mouse clicking.

Thanks all. Very mixed imagery. One of my several personal favourites is Caroline Hyman's botanicals page. Lovely (silver) printing and delicately hand coloured

Wonderful to see Arena group now has an elegant and functional web presence. I first heard about Arena from Kathy Harcom who did / does? participate but they had slipped from mind until now.

    Superb images. Great.

I agree - I've seen some of her work in RPS publications, but it's great to see a larger portfolio.
