    Hi Kate

Opened up B&W Photography (UK) this month, and what should be looking out at me? A fantastic print of a gorilla. Did you know?

    Many congrats.

    Geoff,

Wow, are you kidding! No I haven't seen it yet. We get B&W Photography (UK) about 2 months later so I had no idea. So, is it in the June issue? The latest issue I have right now is April. I think I'll go see if May's issue is in the bookstore.

    Thanks for letting me know!

    Kate

WOW! Congrats Kate. Now, I'm gonna have to go to Borders and see if I can find it.

Congratulations, Kate. I subscribe, so hopefully it will be in my PO box today. If so, I can scan it, if you like?

In Issue 61 (July). It's in the announcement of the Ilford Image On a Box competition winners. Looking forward to buying a box of paper with your gorilla on it!

    Cheers, Bob.

    Thanks everyone!

I just picked up the June issue and it's not in that one so I'm assuming it's in the July issue. I will have to wait awhile for that issue. No problem , I have to wait for lots of things in life and it will be fun to go to the bookstore and see it when I buy my copy. I'm busy using up my paper that I got from Ilford to proof my new photos from China!

    Thanks Kevin,

It's okay I have a print of it that I can scan. Thanks for the offer, though. You'll be getting a new photo from China for the Postcard Exchange (I'm so excited) as soon as I can address them and post them!

    Claire,

The gorilla is actually female. Sorry to disappoint.

    Thanks for the tremendous support!!

I've just seen your gorilla, Kate! I've seen a few pics of gorillas - but this one is really special. It must look even better as a print.

    Thanks Cate,

I spent a very long time observing her ( The gorilla) as I had never ever seen a real gorilla before. I was fascinated with her and I thought the gorillas were so human like or maybe it's that we are gorilla like.

Just picked up my July copy of Black & White Photography(UK).

Wow I'm surprised how big they printed the image! It's a little smaller than the original but not by much. They did a great job reproducing it. I am just thrilled to death and can't believe I'm in my favourite magazine! Thanks to B&W for printing it!

    Congratulations Kate!
Is this image going to be on boxes of Ilford paper? If so when will they start showing up?

    Thanks Todd,

Yes, the gorilla image will be on the 100 sheets of 8X10 Pearl MGIV RC. The rep at Ilford said probably in the Fall. I asked if I could have an empty box and they said they would send it when it was available. They are just so darn nice there. I now have a ton of Ilford paper and film to last me for quite awhile. (as well as 2 boxes of postcard paper!)

Another latecomer to the party, congratulations! I looked at the photo in the magazine and I said "wow!" right there and then. It must be very nice to know your efforts will be in darkrooms and stores all over the place.

    Thanks John!

I see that we almost share the same birthday! Except you're a year older. Cool!
You should subscribe so you can post photos, etc. It's fun! Also the various exchanges are really enjoyable. I usually participate in the postcard and the Blind Print Exchange. The threads are in the Member Organized Functions section and I highly recommend joining.
