I asked about light seals more generically here in the past but now have a more specific question.

I recently picked up an Autocord in need of light seal replacement. The first roll, shot in low light, looked good. Two roll on a bright day had rather significant leaks.

Upon looking at the seals on the back door, the reason is totally obvious - there is a scattered combination of yarn and felt throughout with some areas lacking anything.

I could easily try throwing some strips of foam down but don't have a good way to know what the seals are suppose to look like (bottom of the groove vs side, seal along the hinge - I have none but I assume there should be something?, what size foam is correct?

Where do people get info on what seals ought to look like or do people just guess and check?

A friend loaned me a CDS Autocord his father passed down to him and it was in sory shape. I turned it over to Steve Serota and he gave it a good restoration CLA. Adapted the meter, built up some corroded areas, and it was like new. He can be contacted at http://camera-care.com/

If the camera is worth it to you, that's one way you can go.

It turns out Interslice actually sells seals for the Autocord; they just aren't listed on ebay yet. I sent him a message and he gave me instructions on ordering them.

Here are a few shots from the post-light seal. I'm not 100% sure the leak is resolved - a 100 speed roll prior didn't show it while a 400 speed color roll did - but I'm optimistic. I shot this on an EV 15 day with Fomapan 400:

I probably won't use the film again due to scratches (I've had scratches straight out of development with the film in 3 different cameras now) but I'm definitely happy so far with the shots.
