I have a yashica electro 35. I am having a hardtime focusing in lowlight. is the auxialiary viewfinder effective in focusing in lowlight?
    thanks!

No. The shoe-mounted viewfinder is only for use with thewide/tele lenses for framing.

If the camera has not been cleaned-lubed-adjusted in a while, haze will get into the viewfinder and impede ability to focus in low-light.

Any auxiliary viewfinder would not be suitable for FOCUSING at all. You have to use the rangefinder focusing spot built-in to the camera viewfinder to focus. An auxiliary viewfinder might be helpful for FRAMING your shot, if you were far enough away to not have any parallex issues.
