What lensboards do a B & J 4x5 View camera take?
I'm watching that one too....good luck.
It looks like this one is fitted with some sort of adapter board...perhaps to allow one to use a standard size - maybe Toyo field or Graphic?
According to my 1959 B&J Catalog it should take a 5 1/4" lens board. That adapter may be for the 3 5/8 metal speed graphic type boards or it may be 4X4. There's definitely an adapter there though.
Then I'll sell you my Omega 45D.
OK. Go for it. I'll back off....GOOD LUCK! It looks reaaly nice...and comes with the rear extension too!
I don't know about that one, but my B&J monorail (Orbit) and my B&J press both take 4" boards. Some of the wood ones are even stamped "Burke and James".
Mine are both 4 " metal boards...even my 5 x 7 is a 4 inch board
Bad Brad! Bad Brad!
Do you really want another eBay purchase in the mail before you get to trade your car in on an 8x10?
BTW, I didn't get it. My snipe got sniped.
LOL....Well, when it was at $78 it was a no-brainer...I see it went for over $200. Far more than I was willing to go.
My B&J Grover takes a 5 1/4" board.
That is not an adapter on that B&J, it is the end of the bellows. They are folded inward and seat around the lens I guess to improve the light trap. I have one just like it except stripped of that horrid paint sitting here with me. Someone cut that junk out of mine. They look good in stain and lacquer.
Yeah, I have been looking at my 5x7 B&J field camera, thinking, if I take it apart and refinish it, how long (in years) before I get it back together again. I might just leave it BS Gray.
