A while back I had asked a similar question on the b/w forum and the replies were quite interesting. How fine can details be with modern color papers? (Assume a contact print to avoid issues of enlarger quality etc.)

The film is the determining factor in most cases on modern RC or FB Baryta papers.

    Dear 3Dfan,

According to the Photo Techniques article mentioned in the b&w thread, color papers can resolve detail to the same order of magnitude as black and white papers. If you are truly interested in the subject, it would be well worth obtaining the article.
