    Hello,

I am looking to compile a list of all still photography emulsions and papers discontinued from the beginning of year 2006 to the present, and, if possible, the date of the announcement of discontinuance, and the actual corporate releases that announced this.

Perhaps this next part is a bit of a dream, but after the list is compiled, I would like to collect examples of each type (each emulsion and each format) for a project. Roll film would be great to have in sealed boxes, but empty paper and sheet film boxes would be fine.

You all's help would be most appreciated with my little project.

I also would not mind simultaneously gathering a list of all new products introduced in the same period.

Here is what I can come up with, from memory. I am sure it is an incomplete list, which is why I need you all!

    Color neg films:

    Discontinued:

Kodak Portra 100T (perhaps the most tragic of them all, IMHO)
    Fuji NPL
Fuji NPS (only discontinued to make room for Pro 160S)
Fuji NPC (only discontinued to make room for Pro 160C)
Fuji NPH (replaced with Pro 400H, or just a rename?)
Fuji NPZ (replaced with Pro 800Z, or just a rename?)
Fuji Pro 800Z (announced, then brought back by demand, but what is the score on this? Did they only bring back 135, and leave 120/220 behind?)
Fuji Reala in 120 (???) and 35mm (???) - What is the score on this? Gone, or just no longer imported to the U.S.A?

    Introduced:

    Kodak Ektar 100 (first 135, then 120, then 4x5 and 8x10)
Fuji Pro 160S (direct replacement for NPS)
Fuji Pro 160C (direct replacement for NPC)
Fuji Pro 400H (direct replacement for NPH, or just a rename?)
Fuji Pro800Z (direct replacement for NPZ, or just a rename?)

    Color transparency films:

    Discontinued:

    Kodak EPN
    Kodak EPP
    Kodak E100GX
    Kodak EPY (64T)
    Kodachrome 200
    Kodachrome 64
    Fuji T64
    Fuji Velvia
Fuji Provia 400F (only discontinued to make room for 400X)
    Kodak Ektachrome Infrared (EIR)

    Introduced:

Fuji Provia 400X (direct replacement for Provia 400F)
Fuji Velvia 50 (introduced by popular demand after RVP was cut)

    Black and white negative films:

    Discontinued:

    Kodak High Speed Infrared (HIE)
Kodak Tri-X 320 in medium format (would want examples of 120 and 220 only)
    Kodak BW400CN

    Introduced:

Ilford SFX (re-introduced after a discontinuance in what year?)
    Kodak New T-Max 400 (TMY-II)

    RA papers:

    Discontinued:

Kodak Portra Endura, definitely in cut sheets, and apparently in rolls too
Kodak Supra Endura (??? - I don't see it on their Website any more except as "Supra Digital VC")
Kodak Ultra Endura in cut sheets
Kodak Endura Metallic in cut sheets
All Kodak 8.5x11, first surface N only, and then all of it
All Fuji Crystal Archive in cut sheets (???)

    Introduced:

I am very unclear on this. There seem to be a few "digital" and "VC" versions of their old Endura emulsions. I don't know if these have totally replaced plain Endura or not, or if they are optically printable and available in cut sheets.

    Black and white papers:

    Discontinued:

All Oriental Seagull for black and white prints from color negatives - forgot the exact name of this product

Probably some more that I don't know.

    Introduced:

Quite a few, I believe, at least to Freestyle.

Any help anyone would provide would be most, er...uhm....helpful.

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks, but it was introduced before 2006 if my memory serves me well...which it very well may not! With everyone's input, and evidence, we can clean up the list I posted to make it complete and accurate.

Original press releases will be tracked down eventually, and the companies contacted, but I also wanted to start this thread.

I don't think BW400CN is discontinued. I think was in the UK or maybe Europe, but Kodak's US website shows it and has no discontinuation notice.

Chicago Albumen Works POP was the Kentmere paper.
Hard to track the house brands (freestyle etc) When Forte went they lost part of their line too, probably shouldn't count that twice, or maybe so?

AgfaPhoto (ex Agfa Consumer Imaging) did their last coating in November 2005. So they just made it to avoid this listing...

I buy Reala and 800Z in 120 regularly.

EPP and EPY are available as well still.

Where do you buy your Reala in 120 regularly? When was the last time you got it? I am very curious to find out about Reala (and I want to stock up).

About the 800Z, I am not sure about 120. I have heard here that it is gone in 120 in England (as in no longer imported). Not sure about U.S.A., though I can still get it off the shelf as well.

Because it takes some time for store shelves to catch up with manufacturer's discontinuations (especially with low-demand products, obviously), it is hard to judge what has been "discontinued" in manufacture by what is "available" from retailers.

EPP and EPY are most definitely discontinued by the manufacturer. They will be "available" until Kodak's supply is all shipped, and they are sold out from retailers, but they are definitely discontinued by the manufacturer.

Seen EPP and EPY on eBay available, Vanbar has EPY 64T in 35mm 100ft bulk rolls.

Pro 800Z in 120, I've gotten it from Ted's in Brisbane numerous times, they also have Reala, hell even the shitty shop here in Byron gets Reala in 120.

Though I typically buy 10 packs of whatever I want on eBay, so much cheaper than buying in Aus.

800Z in 120 is on eBay as well. Reala is my fave xpro film.

Vanbar is selling Reala in both 120 and 220, and 800Z in 120.

Searching on eBay I cant find any Reala in 120 atm though.

800Z in 120 is listed on Fuji (Australia)'s site, Reala only in consmer film section not pro film->fujicolor negative, which is 35mm of course, but I dont remember reala being ever listed in the pro section.

Perhaps its just low supply atm, and the next batch is not out yet?

Pro 160S is a perfectly fine substitute for Reala and has better grain with the same resolution last time I checked Fuji's sheets on it. I'd still be a bit sad at losing it though. I would however be very upset the loss of 800Z.

Though there still is Superia 100 and 400 in 120.
