I have used Fomatone MG fibre papers for lith printing and always loved them so I am going to try the Fomabrom (111, 122 & 123) for standard B&W printing and wondered what others thought of them compared to Ilford's MGIV?

I'm not sure how it compares to Ilford, but whenever I've used Fomabrom to lith print it comes out HUGELY grainy, and doesn't take on too much colour. I'm sure with more experimenting it could look fantastic.

I use a lot of the Arista EDU version of Fomabrom 111 and really like it. I prefer the print color I get with it to Ilford MG and certainly get as good a tonal scale, the only down side that I might see is that it's not as hardened so you don't want to let it sit in water forever.

I find it slightly more responsive to selenium and gold toning than MGIV. It also has a colder tone. Foma recommend using a dark red safelight with this paper.

Sorry... It's a great paper, as others have said.
