Hi All, there are many updates going in this weekend, starting tonight about 10pm NZ time. Downtime should be minimal with possibly only one large outage anywhere from 1-4hrs long. I'll post progress in this thread.

    Thanks!

    Sean

    The site is backup.

-upgrade vbulletin core system from 3.6.4 to 3.6.8 L2 - Completed
-upgrade site templating to new vbulletin 3.6.8 L2 templates - Completed
-upgrade vbseo search engine optimization system - Completed
-upgrade banner ad serving system software - Completed
-Install new blog system - Completed (more details on that here: http://www.apug.org/forums/forum38/44282-blogs-gone-good-new-post.html )

A busy night! For the most part some cleanup and optimizing is still needed, but so is sleep so I will pickup where I left off tomorrow.

    ok.. KNOWN BUGS:

-forum breadcrumb trail at the top of the page*FIXED
-the ad serving software is causing some javascript errors *FIXED
-some of the blog links are broken such as ones linking to view people's blogs.*FIXED
-footer ad blocks are bunched together, getting a code fix for that soon

So for now bug fixes then onto the rest (big gallery software update, articles work etc)

If you find any bugs please post them in this thread, I'm sure I have missed a few more things. Thanks!

    Sean

fyi- The APUG gallery will be locked down for an upgrade soon, probably 2hrs from now when some prep is finished.

    Thanks

    Sean,

Don't know if this is a product of the upgrade or maintenance, but the server is looking for a login authentication no matter what thread or forum I try to click on.

    Regards,

    Shawn Rahman (hkr)

I'm guessing that's a mechanism to warn you to stay out of the gallery while it's being upgraded. Clicking on "cancel" each time it appears gets rid of it for me.

My lockdown must have interfered with some other areas. I've removed that and just locked the gallery down now that the upgrade is partially completed.

The gallery is back up. There are a few problems with the new 'mature content' filter not working but the software developers are looking into it and it should be resolved soon. More details later..

An extra compliacated mature content filter request...

Is there any way the contnet filter could be switched on and off, based on the source IP of the request. When I am at work, i would like the filter to be on, but at home, when connecting with a different IP, I would like it to be off.

I know its a PITA request, but I'll ask anyway

    thanks

    Geoff
