She certainly lived an interesting life. She is probably best know as Weston's model, but her historical importance will also include the note taking, record keeping, and writing she did for and about Weston.

One of the Great Lights in Art has faded.
    She will be sorely missed.

I've always thought Weston's picture, "Charis, Lake Ediza" one of the best portraits ever made. What an extraordinarily well lived life. RIP.

An icon in the history of photography. I shoot a lot of figure work and she has always been and will continue to be an inspiration.

    Sigh.
    Indeed, Rest in peace Charis.

For those who haven't seen it, the film Eloquent Nude is a worthwhile celebration of her life and times with Edward.

The preview clip titled 'Last photography Session" was just down right heart wrenching. The film maker capturing the shear difficulty in her eyes and motions of recalling that time of life is art in itself.

What a life she led. So many people she and Edward touched.
I bet Edward is saying to her, "About Time you got here with me and the boys"
