My name is Matt Ferraro and I am new to the site. Growing up in the Monterey Bay area I guess it is easy to understand why photography, especially underwater, has been a passion of mine since I was 12 years old. Until recently I never had a darkroom of my own. I have always used those of my friends, rentals, summer programs, or the ones at Brooks Institute where I went to school (do they even have a darkroom there anymore?).

Are there any other underwater finnatics out there?

    Cheers,

    Matt

Welcome to the site Matt. No experience of underwater here - except for my 401K!! (Or should I say 200.5K!)
    enjoy.

Hello Matt! I have no experience in underwater photography. I do have a P&S underwater camera but hardly ever used in water, but one of these days I'm going to use it.(It can only go down 16ft.) I bet Monterey Bay is a great place to take pictures!

    Thanks for the "Welcome"

Monterey Bay is in California. It is the home for the newly revamped Center for Photographic Arts. We are lucky to have a history of great photographers and aritists who have come to the bay to explore their passion.

Welcome, Matt, from near Washington, DC. Photography is great underwater. But do not develop your film under water.(grin).

Thank you for all the warm welcomes. If anyone ever has any questions regarding underwater work I will always be happy to try and answer them to the best of my ability.

Welcome from Washington DC, and from a fellow underwater photo fan. I've got a Sea & Sea MX-10 with the 'potato masher' flash. I'm just a snorkeler so it works out just fine, but I don't get to use it very often as I don't live near warm, clear water.
