I don't have pics offhand to show how it works but it is quite simple - the hose end fits on your faucet. The syphon clips over the edge of your wash tray. I typically elevate my wash tray by putting another tray of the same size, inverted, underneath it so the J of the syphon can hang into the sink unimpeded. Best positioned in the corner of the tray. Turn on the water, running it SLOWLY until the level in the tray is above the inlet/outtake ports on the syphon, as it will spray all over the place if it is too forceful. Once the water level is above the inlet/outtake ports, increase the volume until the water level remains constant - too slow and there's not enough suction to remove water from the tray, too much and you're wasting water.

One change I made in one that i used, was to replace the rubber clamp on the faucet with a screw type found at a hardware store, attached with a screw clamp so it won't come off.
