:confused:Down to my last few sheets of the paper I've used for many years. Adox' website has no current release date posted for their rerelease, reformulation of this paper. So now I'm about to try my best to find alternatives because I'm still in the midst of a single portfolio that needs consistency.

Options include: A neutral tone paper such as Berrger or Fomabrom Variant 111 in a warm tone developer such as zonal pro warm. Or alternately, start with a warmtone paper and try to cool it down. (Problem with the latter option is that most all warmtone papers have a cream base or a decidedly warm image. The Agfa MCC 111 was on a bright white base with only a hint of warmth in the dark areas. I typically toned it in Selenium just to the point of increased DMAX (not attempting true color shift or split-tones).

I'm open to suggestions that might save me a number of hours. Of course, if anyone has a box or two (11 x 14) that's drawing dust, I'll take it off your hands . I may have submitted a similar post as this a few years ago, but perhaps now people have had more time to experiment with new papers on the market. Thanks in advance!

    Hello Gary,

Fotoimpex has announced a release date of late 2009 for the Adox MCC , as the building up of the coating machine at Invisocoat will last so long. The new paper will have a bright white support without that slight creamy tint of the former Agfa MCC. Since Photokina Fotoimpex / Adox and Wolfgang Moersch sell Ilford Multigrade Warmtone coated on white paper. Maybe this is an option for you.

Where was that announcement made? At the bottom of this ADOX FOTOIMPEX page

    http://www.adox.de/english/ADOX_Papers/MCC/MCC.html

it says "...the most recent target is now late 2008 or early 2009." Coincidentally, I sent Mirko a PM several days ago asking whether that target is still correct. He hasn't replied yet.

Mirko still hasn't replied, but a little while ago the linked page was revised. It now reads "Unfortunately there have been three major delays in the progress of this move and the most recent target is now the middle of 2009."

I would respectfully suggest that you may want to start again with a new paper instead of trying to match an old paper. I have been in your shoes, and I think it is the best route for the long term. At some point you will probably come to this realization yourself, probably out of frustration. You may actually end up with better prints because of it.

I have finally taken your recommendation and used the Adox Variotone warmtone paper - just as my MCC supply was finally depleted. I am very pleased that this Variotone paper will permit me to continue printing this portfolio.
