Have you seen Jens Olof Lasthein's pictures from Abchasia? Probably not as they are still unpublished. But now you can see them on the web, as he won the Leica Oskar Barnack Award with that portfolio.

Jens is a friend of mine, and a very worthy winner. He uses a widelux camera for many of his projects and negative colour film.

Thanks for this. I have Jen's two books "Moments In Between" and "White Sea Black Sea" and they've both brilliant. The 2nd one has better printing, but I prefer the photos in the first. My wife loves both books because she's Romanian and likes the 'Eastern' focus. Are there plans for a new book?

No, not that I know about. But he is having exhibitions now and then.

I also love his books, especially White Sea Black Sea, as I have been to many of those places.

Excellent use of the Widelux format in that portfolio!
