    For sale is a mint condition black Leica R5 body with Leica Motor-Winder-R, battery insert, Leica Hand Grip with strap and a body cap.

    Everything is in mint condition and proper working order.

    Serial # 1716244.

    $475 + $20 shipping

    Answer to several requests about how mint is it: it appears like new, almost unused.
    This camera was owned by a collector, not a user.
    Price reduced to $450 + $20 shipping.

    if i didn't have an r4 sitting here with me I'd jump, but isn't it a shame that such an amazing machine from Leica, no less, goes begging at such low prices?

    Yes, it is strange how far the mighty R has fallen.
    This camera and motor drive were purchased by an avid Leica enthusiast in 1986, probably for about $1500.
    In today's dollars, about $3500.
    He might have put a roll of film through it one time, just to see how it worked.
    When I explained to him that Leica R cameras are not very popular right now, he just waved me off.

    Though this is a tough period of the year selling stuff, there's so much great stuff going for amazing prices, but I guess it's still topping up after the holiday seasons time ...
