    Per,

I will look in the 'Piggy Bank' and see what I've got. This living on SS and drinking has cut into my travel money.

    Jan Pietrzak

ps, Per do you have some kind of land deal going on, or just used cars, let's see ????? ladies in Pasadena I think, on Sunday.

    Per,

Is there a limit to the get together? Do we need to make reservations for the camp ground?

    Campgrounds are first come first...

We will stay at the "usual" place. However I do not want to post this on the web.
(lots of photographers in one place - gear - etc...)

Instead I will email info when we get the crowd together.

Tempting... we go to San Diego every winter and we're planning to be there the week before. The only problem was that I was planning to fly home on the Sunday...

    Ponder ponder!

I couldn't have said it better, email sent. Snapple mike? I'd at least thought Almaden pink Chablis in the convenient half-gallon jug to be drank in a dixie cup.

Per, I have sent my email.
I am saddened this will be the last as this get together has always been fun and informative.
I have attended the last 4 years and I look forward to this each year.

Maybe I will bring my old 12x20 Korona this time if I have the energy.
Heck, maybe this is a good time for the big cameras to come out of hiding so all can see.

I know Jim Fitzgerald has his share of ULFs.

No matter what camera you have lets make this one for the books.

A few things to remember about Joshua Tree. It is a desert and can be dangerous.
Bring plenty of water, warm clothes, clothes for when it turns warm.
Maps of the area so you don't get lost. Money for park entrance fee and money for camp site fee if you are camping.

Read up on it at the Joshua Tree NP website. http://www.nps.gov/jotr/

There's a few places in the city of Joshua Tree. Yucca Valley has a lot more and is only like 5 or 6 miles away. The Park entrance itself is like 5 or 6 miles I guess from the intersection with the highway in Joshua Tree. I hope to be out there then. Maybe I'll run into you guys.

If all goes as planned maybe I'll bring all Three ULF's! So if there is no snow, wind lightning, rain, hail etc.etc.etc. maybe I'll actually shoot more than one sheet!!

A lot closer than my tent will ever be.

Five or six miles depending where you leave from. Not more than 10 or 15 in most cases.

I've never been to Joshua Tree so I'm not sure where I should be looking for a hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Since this it going to be my LAST JOSHUA TREE WORKSHOP / GETTOGETHER!!! I'm probably going to stay in a motel down there somewhere unless the Dodge Ram God resurrects my truck from it's lame transmission problem which is very likely due to the limited time I will have to get it fixed.

I'm sure there won't be a problem with accommodations, OK, I'm not that sure but it always works out.

There are three cities with accommodations nearby, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms. 29 Palms is where the main entrance is, though coming from the west I always enter through Joshua Tree or from the lower desert off I-10.
I have no specific recommendations, as I stay overnight in the park, but there is the usual assortment of private and chain motels and fancier places.
