All, What happened to National flash guns (made by Panasonic), and Phillips + Braun? Have they all pulled out of the flash market. Is Nissin part of the Panasonic group i.e. National under another name. Sunpack used to be very big in the UK in the 1980s, but but don't do much stuff now. Apart from Metz and Nissin any other biggish flash gun manufacturer?

To make things even more complicaterd: there were two german companies called Braun (the Frankfurt and the N├╝rnberg one) who once manufactured flashlights.
The Frankfurt one is the one always connected with design.

No, both companies stopped manufacturing flashlights.
The first one cancelled the photographic (and audio) range completely and sticks only to body care and kitchen tools.
The second one is still busy with photographic gear and is one of the few who offer slide projectors. I assume those projectors are still manufactured by them. Most of the rest of their products seem to be rebranded.
