Oh no! I've lost my Norah Jones CD!

I'm printing tonight and really need her! She's my inspiration in the studio and darkroom when I work on prints that require a little extra sensitivity and soul! Thank you Norah. I'll have to buy the cd again tomorrow.

She's got one hell of a voice. I always thought her and Willie Nelson should get together.

    DISASTER !

My little stack of CDs in the darkroom is the most important thing !

When CDs first came to market I was a devout turnatable guy, and was appalled at the idea... until I saw two buttons on the player : REPEAT and RANDOM.

It seems to me that there is an instinctive choice which music is played, that somehow relates to the picture which needs to be made. I hope you find Nora quickly.

    Norah kicks boooooty.

I gave my grandmother the CD (she is a jazzy girl who just turned 80). She loves it!

    Hmmm....

Nicole listens to Norah Jones and produces stunning work.
ISTR that Cheryl Jacobs also listens to Norah Jones and produces stunning work.

Yes... I can see a pattern beginning to emerge...!

No, wait, I listen to Norah Jones too. Oh well, that's that theory down the pan then...

Wait, Frank...I listen to Norah Jones, too. I do not produce the stunning work that Nicole and Cheryl do. You and I are both male. Maybe it is a gender synchronicity thing.

She's also a very nice, down to earth gal, Nicole (like yourself). Before making it big she was a student at the same university I attend and I had the pleasure of photographing her for our college newspaper.

I bought one of her CD's a couple years ago on a trip to Florida. I listened to it each morning on my way to watch the sun rise over the ocean. To this day, when I listen to that cd, I can smell the ocean and it makes me smile.

For those turntable devotees, that I presume are of my age, let me tell you that she is the daugther of Ravy Shankar, like father, like daughter.

Please note - owing to a persistant back problem, I now only rock worlds on alternate Thursdays.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Long gone, I'm afraid. On tape, but the fixer deposits hurt the fidelity.

while we all share a passion for analog, we really dont share the same taste in music!!

my darkroom rocks to the sound of early U2, punk music or electronica and on an "old" ipod with a red filter taped over the screen.

Norah and the darkroom go hand in hand for me as well. Nicole, while you're out buying a new Nora CD I highly recomend the less well known but no less incredible cd New York City - The Peter Malick Group featuring Nora Jones. It's a little more bluesy than her solo albums. And whoever mentioned that Nora should work with Willie Nelson - she has! Also great stuff. Shawn

I concur with Jeremy's comments. She is a very genuine person and her story is wonderful. She was working with my brother in New York at a restaurant when she hit the big time. Took three of the staff with her on tour. I am very fortunate to have a copy of her demo session (that became the first album) as a result of that relationship. I play that CD eight hours straight while doing laps between here and California, singing (trying to sing) the whole way. Never tire of it. Her music is sincere, genuine, effortless, wonderful.

That doesn't surprise one bit! You haven't discovered the true joys of life yet (Norah Jones and Rodinal etc.) :D

Add some Sarah McLaughlin and Russel Watson then maybe you'll have enough for a short printing session

The music Norah Jones is definitely intended to be heard in the dark...

It also keeps you nicely settled...no rushing through things and making mistakes. Judging by my work, I think I should play her stuff more often...no, maybe continuously...LOL

I don't listen to Nora Jones, The only Nora I know of is Nora Batty... I quite like the sound of Joss Stone... currently in my CD player I have the Gorillaz album Demon Days. If I'm not listening to a CD I have the radio on, either BBC Radio 4 or the BBC World Service.

If it should be luddite you are forced to bring Norah and band into the darkroom to play for you. Luddites don't believe in recorded music :D

"Norah, could you please pass my prints from developer to stop while you sing?"
