For anyone who's interested - and some jolly nice ones too - I'd buy the colour Durst L1200 myself if I (1) Didn't already have one and (2) Would definitely be disowned bringing 'another' one home :whistling:

"It followed me home - can we keep it?"

    I saw that as well.

I don't think it's Vanbar. Photo Resource has a different address (Rae St, Nth Fitzroy) and have been in business for about 30 years servicing schools, professionals and keen amateurs - probably in competition with Vanbar for a lot of stuff. I'm guessing that some of the items being offered are trade-ins that haven't moved or some dead stock and they're having a house-cleaning.

It's a Durst! That should be all you need to say, right? How could she possibly not understand! :D

Ha ha, I was just about to reply and she walked in the door, so I told her what you said. "It's okay, it's a Durst". She said "What does that mean?" I replied "That means it's the finest quality Italian enlarger."

I just managed to get the enlarger into my tiny darkroom. Wow, what an awesome beast!

By the way, I am offering up a Durst Laborator 1000 with cold light head free to a good APUG home. (After all it was given free to me by a fellow APUGer.)

I'd be more than happy to give it a good home, I've just started getting into printing, did my first contact prints on the weekend. (And I completely understand if you decline, its only my second post on APUG  )

Hi, Mr Student, sorry but you were the third person to reply. The first one has already collected the enlarger. I'm sure you will find something soon.

Bought the LPL with the intention of creating my own B&W lab,
but did not get around to it"

Sorry, Hoffy. No intention to spam... merely trying to help someone get a hold of an enlarger.

Thanks Molli! I've been keeping an eye on enlargers via ebay, I'd been waiting until I had a car to go pick one up, and I finally bought a car yesterday. So enlarger shopping I will go :D
