Just read over on the Large Format forum that Ruth Bernhard passed away at age 101.
101.....I'ld say that was long enough. RIP
It is truly a sad day, but she had a long and fantastic life. That we could all say the same about ourselves when it is our time.
Thank You Ms. Bernhard for all those wonderfull photographs...RIP
Too bad. A great photographer of the female form.
I have a signed copy of her book, "The Collection of Ginny Williams" Excellent photography.
The light has dimmed.
Ruth was a major force in our field. I had the pleasure of meeting her several times. One time, we sat and talked about Edward Weston. Now, she is with Edward and the rest of Group 64.
The one quote I'll remember her by was "Today is the day". Tomorrow, I'll raise a pint to her and her wonderful energy.
Great photographs and great photographer. 101 years of life and work to inspire all.
She lived for over a century, I wish I could live that long!
