Hello fellow APUGers in the Toronto (Ontario) area!

David William White and I are planning an APUG photography walkabout at the University of Toronto St George campus on Saturday, May 15, at 9:00AM.

St George campus is the downtown Toronto campus of the University of Toronto and is comprised of a number of architecturally historic and interesting buildings (University College, Trinity College, etc.)

Our meeting point will be the steps leading to the front entrance of University College that faces onto King's College Circle.

In the event of rain on Saturday, May 15, our backup or alternate day will be Sunday, May 16 at 9:00AM.

David and I look forward to meeting all APUGers in the GTA who can join us on May 15 (or May 16 in case of rain) at 9:00AM.

    Thanks Tom for suggesting this.

I'll be shooting 4x5 and I think Tom will have his medium format. Hopefully a few others will join us and catch some great architecture.

Just to whet your appetite, here's some small camera (high-rated film) of a 20 minute sweep I did a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking forward to getting back with a big camera -- and no cars in the shot this time!

    David.

    Rain day May 16th 9am?
Well you certainly have never had 'G.A.S.' have you?

That is the day of the spring camera show known as the Big One, starting at 10am.

I'm committed to camping with the cubs and beavers that weekend.

Ah the joys of a busy schedule.

Thanks for the reminder on 'The Big One'. We'll just have to cross our fingers! Too bad you can't join us, Mike.

Great suggestion Tom, I'm in. I was always curious about the U of T but I thought photography is restricted in the campus area. Anyway I will bring along my Hassy and a 35mm camera with a 24mm lens, not sure which one yet. cheers,

As an alumnus, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys shoot/scan/print. This reminds me that I have a bunch of negatives of campus to get to...

    Samples from today...

Here's some of my 4x5's from today's shoot at the University of Toronto. Great to work with Mihai again and to meet Tom and his RZ67. Thanks also to Tom for leading us around and especially showing us the UC courtyard!

Hi guys; David, thanks for coming up with this great project idea.
Tom, thanks for guiding us around the campus. It was fun and inspiring to work with both of you; I hope we will do this more often.
Here is my take on the U of T.

David, I love that so far our work complements each other: you offer a view of the whole while I go more into the detail. I suspect Tom will surprise us by going into details even further... perhaps macro?
Have you noticed the chandelier in one of my images?

Oh, yes, good work Mihai! Tom looked like he was really isolating the detail work, so hopefully he'll post something soon.

I've got a roll of 35mm that I'll develop soon & post a couple more.

Yeah, that's the stuff, more please!

Did you guys go over to Vic or St. Mike's? Lots of interesting nooks to shoot on that side of campus, not that you wouldn't have enough options at UC or Hart House.

    Now I'm homesick...

I love the UC courtyard, it's a pity I could not make it out back on the 15th.

Couple more shots I found on the 35mm film I shot with the Nikon F3 and 24mm Nikkor. Love this lens
