nikkor 135 f3.5

Hi guys,I found this lens.
Is it a good objetive?thank you very much.

What lens mount is it? Nikon made that lens in bayonet mount to match their rangefinder camera (similar to Contax mount) and also made one for Leica/Canon screw mount. I once had one in Leica mount but it never focused correctly; it's a good lens though, I think I just had a bad one.

I've got one of these in LTM, the Nikkor-Q. Performs brilliantly for me.

According to tests carried out by several people the lens is very good indeed. Have a look at the test done by Ken Rockwell, that says it all.

It's a very good lens, I had one and the only quibble I had was the focal length - either too long or too short; I sold it and bought the 105.

I've got an F-mount Q version with seven aperture blades and a shockingly beautiful blue coating, like this one:

It is a stellar performer with a special look, which I think comes from having such a simple optical formula (only four elements) that also happens to be one of Nikon's oldest (it predates even the Nikon F). Unlike the 105/2.5, the 135/3.5 never reached legendary status due to its pedestrian maximum aperture.

I have to admit that I'm a wide angle junkie and I almost never use lenses longer than 50mm, but when I do, the 135mm f/3.5 is the lens I grab. Mine no longer accepts filters due to a drop, so one of these days I'm going to get another of the same vintage.

When you ask about Nikon lenses it would help if you could include a serial number. This way the exact model could be looked up. Asking whether a 135/3.5 Nikon lens is good is like asking whether a Ford car is good. What model? What year?

I no longer have a record of the number, but my example was a Nikkor-Q pre-AI, ca. 1969-70. Very good lens.

Really? Just how many lens formulations did Nikon make of the 135/3.5?

They made it in two mounts, two or three generations of single coatings, non-AI, AI, and at least one generation of muticoating. I don't know how many optical tweaks may have occured, but they were all the same design.
