Is the meter accurate enough? Assuming it's working properly, yes. Being off in calibration is different and not really a problem, just shoot some test rolls and if you find you have to expose 1/3 or 2/3s or whatever stops more or less just set the film speed accordingly.
OTOH things like inaccurate shutters at some speeds are far more frustrating. Best thing you can do is just give it a go. If the results are consistent (whether spot on, under, or over) just adjust the film speed a bit if necessary.
