Les Thanks for the reply. Now we know. Given that this was a decision by B&W it's a pity that no announcement was made by the magazine with at least some form of background to the reasons why. The readers deserve this instead of being left "swinging".
There seems to be a tendency of mags to do these things without announcement or "rationale". I recall AP's actions concerning R Hicks column amongst other changes when the editor changed.
You might argue that the whole of APUG is really a Q&A site and yet despite this itch being scratched constantly I still read the Q&A avidly and I would be surprised if I am alone.
There may well have been evidence from questionnaires /focus groups backing this decision. On the other hand if it was a "gut reaction" or change for change's sake because the "new broom was sweeping" then I get worried about the future of any magazine run on this basis.
