I had a similar episode in my misspent youth, but with Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. Makes me cringe and vomit just thinking about it. So does thinking about the girl I ended up with that night, but that's another story entirely.

She probably thinks the same about you.

I prefer my single malts neat, though (prompted by reading whiskey reviews)

I'd never heard that term until a years back. I still say straight, though. Actually "Straight, no ice".

DON'T send it out! I live in Sunnyvale. I have kids who live in Los Gatos. Call me. I'll send phone number via private message.

I was promised they would send the camera after the pictures were taken. No sign of it yet.

Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum... I have a couple of plastic flask-type bottles of that. It isn't bad for chasing away the chill when I'm out shooting late in the evening during the cold months. Taken judiciously, of course.

This be a tolerant group. And yes, I am serious. If you wind up with someone you don't expect... lay off the booze.

I just love how we always manage to come full-circle back to chickens.

Even in totally unrelated threads

Around the world camera threads are notorious for doing that kind of thing. Chickens are an important staple in said threads... ;-P

Can a good samaritan explains at us, newbies, how this "chicken fixing" thing started, in the begining ?

Actually, no. Not possible. You can go back to starting at Camera 5 threads (there are a couple) and read the definitive history of the cult of chicken sacrifice.

The short answer is: "It's all Sile's fault!".

Can a good samaritan explains at us, newbies, how this "chicken fixing" thing started, in the begining ?Although Tim claims that it is not possible, I think it is. And here is my lame attempt to do so. I think it all comes from someone in this exchange using German language. "sending something by mail" in German is "etwas per Post schicken" and there you have it, some poor soul forgot about the 's' in schicken and so it got chicken. :whistling:

Cheers
Ruediger

We all know you are Hamming it up rst.

Ham is Schinken in German. Now that you have the camera, you have to sacrifice a ham.

tim in san jose

BTW Hahnchen is hen in German, Huhn is generic chicken.

Now we're schinken fast!

I think I'm going to get a chicken and name it Attila the Huhn.

Maybe I'll get a cow and give it a German name, too. I think that would be Kuh.
