Obviously Camera 10!

Maybe we should have mercy for Sean and his servers, and open another thread for Camera 10 ?

Every camera gets at least two threads. It's a law.

So where's the pics? I wanna see pics!

After all these years, you want pics?

Update: Should have scans of pics and the two contact sheets in my hands by next week. I thought it would be cool for everyone to have a scan of the contacts. Hopefully by then I can figure out logistics of posting them.

Hope you are all well. I am looking forward to going back to being a mere participant in the next round, if we have one!

Regards,

Shawn

Maybe I'll host the next round. I have a couple cameras that would like to see the world.

As long as you don't like them very much.

Looks like Round 10 is off to a flying start! Best of luck to Rick A and the rest of us on this next round of lunacy.

With regrets - unless I get the film back tomorrow (not likely) - the uploading of Round 9 pictures will have to wait another 1-1/2 to 2 weeks when I return from vacation. Sorry about that folks - we waited almost two years, so what's another two weeks, right? :(

My apologies - but it looks like we have Round 10 to keep us busy until then!

Regards,

Shawn

WHAT ? Another two weeks to wait ? You are killing me

Hope you aren't in vacation in a zone under hurricane, typhoon, or cyclone risk :D

Anyway, have good holidays.

Made it back from vacation safely. Thanks so much, Raphael, for worrying about me and not the pictures! :whistling:

Pictures from Round 9 will be up starting Friday evening.

Hope you are all doing well.

Shawn

Hurrah !!! That's good news !!! Of course, I mean this about you back from vacation, fresh, rested and tanned ! :p
...And ready to take on a publishing marathon of pictures ;)

Did you have nice holidays, anyway ?

Thanks, Raphael - I did indeed have a nice holiday. Wish I could show you some pics, but can't on APUG :(

I hope to post the first pictures from Round 9 later this evening, but here's a teaser (see pic)! It's the uncut strips of Tri-X from Round 9, sleeved and on top of a lightbox. The Leica strip on top; the Olympus on bottom. From the looks of the negatives, the Stylus's meter played tricks on some shooters. We'll see soon enough.

Some details: The rolls of Tri-X were developed in Kodak X-Tol in a Dip & Dunk Referma processor. I will cut the strips this evening, scan them, and then sleeve them. Because I find such tedium soothing (don't laugh), I wanted to do this work myself.

Matt - and at first glance, the pics (at least early in the Stylus' roll) look very nice. Glad we chose Tri-X!

TO ALL ROUND 9 PARTICIPANTS:

Please visit the gallery titled "Traveling Camera Project" to view the pics, and to identify yours. Please include, if possible, the subject and location, or any other meaningful thoughts you'd like to share about your pictures.

Comments are welcome and open to all. I will upload as many pictures at a time as the APUG police let me.

Reminder to everyone that I scanned the negatives at home. I used an Epson V500 with the negatives in the film holder. This is not speedy work.

Please excuse the imperfections; I am not an expert scanner. Also, I left the framing alone, so no cropping once it came out of the scanner. No post-processing, except for blatant scanning dirt or artifacts.

Finally, please contact me by PM if you are interested in receiving a high-resolution, but otherwise unretouched, scan of your image. I'll leave it up to you to crop & edit, of course.

Regards,

Shawn

First 20 frames from the Olympus are up. Please note they may not be uploaded in the same order as they were shot. Please look for your frames!

We have about 60 shots from both cameras.

IMHO, if the first frames from the Olympus are any indication, this round is a COMPLETE success. :)

All 29 frames from the Olympus are now in the gallery. Some are out of sequence from the order we shot them in, so please look for your pictures.

Shawn

To the Leica people: Wow. Looks like the Olympus shooters kicked ass this round. Seriously wonderful shots. Quite a few of them enlargement & wall worthy.

Will have the Leica pics up soon. In the meantime, please support the Round 9 Olympus shooters by checking out the gallery and commenting.

Shawn
