I sent a fiber based b&w print, dry mounted on museum board with no over-mat. The subject was not specifically my usual thing. I was sorta excited about the print so I sent it to see if the recipient would be too.

I am! :D It's gorgeous, thank you so much! :) Where was it taken?

I am! :D It's gorgeous, thank you so much! :) Where was it taken?

It was taken at the place us northwest (Oregon... hint hint, and Washington)APUG'ers are going for a photo weekend this summer. Port Townsend on the way to Hurricane Ridge. There are a few really old shore defense batteries that you can wander around in. Fascinating stuff.

I'm glad you like the print! It makes me happy when my stuff can bring a smile.

oh I am not aware of this photo weekend, where do I find out more? My parents live up there in Sequim. I still haven't been up to Hurricane Ridge when I've been to see them, I need to get up there.

Well, I'm afraid that I'm not up on the technical terms :(, but last week I bought some dry mounting tissue and using my iron (don't have a press) I mounted an 8x10 print onto an 11x14 (IIRC) board and then cut an overmat? to cover the print so that all that should be required is to put it into a frame (assuming that the recipient doesn't just pitch it out 'cause its so bad).

cheers

What sort of "photographic products" are people sending out?

I send unmounted prints only. My experience is that the post will crack any stiff mount, damaging the photo. So I use a stiff card or cardboard which they are welcome to crack, but takes the strain off the print.

So far I have sent fiber based prints - and some alt.process ones. I don't plan a head, just run off some extra copies of whatever print I want to make.

And yours is going out today, sir. 8x10 FB, but I'm afraid it's unmounted. You'll be happy to know the neg was FP4+ souped in Rodinal. :)

Well it seems like some of you have gone above and beyond in the print exchange. Unfortunately I am not so technically advanced and sent c6h6o3 (Jim) a regular print. Hope you like it, if not it makes a great dustpan in a pinch.

Ole:

I'm sorry I'm late, but sent your print off today. Hope it gets to you soon and undamaged.

wbryant:

I got your print today. I like it. You have very good printing skills.

Okay guys,

I'm a few minutes from completing my status report. To recap, I lost the original/only copy of my exchange assignments when my notebook PC died, and have had to reconstruct it based on PMs in my "Sent Items" and other folders as well as thread content.

It looks like some assignments still need to be made. I want to confirm that no one is yet sending photography to mark, bobfowler, kwmullet (not an issue, since I already got one from TPPhotog), MCHickman, and wbryant.

I also want to confirm that castilg, john neal, and MCHickman are still prepared to send photography to *someone*, but have not yet received the address of their recipient.

I've got two prints (at least) that I'm prepared to send, so there's a bit of a buffer.

More in a few.

February Blind Exchange status list as of Sun Mar 6 02:03:08 CST 2005

My notebook PC crashed and I'm in the middle of moving between houses
(trouble always comes in threes. I wonder what's next?!?), so it took
me a while, but here's the current status of

The Blind Exchange: February Edition

** Note: the Date of Status is going to be off on several of these. At
2am, finishing this up, I kept forgetting to update it. :o

The life cycle of exchange participation:
interested-> queried-> active-> paired-> acknowledged-> completed-> inactive

If you're INTERESTED in participating, you can send me a PM or
drop a note into the thread to that effect. If you haven't already
assented to the expectations of the exchange and given me (or whoever
the moderator is) your exact postal address, you will be QUERIED
for them. Once I know your postal address and have reason to believe
you understand the exchange expectations, you are considered
ACTIVE. Once the joinup date passes, you will be PAIRED
with someone who will receive some analog photography from you. Although
it's not necessary, if you mention that you have received the name and
address of your recipient and that work is planned, underway or
completed, I'll mark that you've ACKNOWLEDGED my PM. Again,
although not required, if your recipient mentions that (s)he has
received your work, I'll put you down as COMPLETED.

If, for any number of reasons, you find it necessary to drop out of the
exchange or want/need to sit out a cycle, I'll mark you as INACTIVE.

it looks like I am on the list that says I am not going to get a print, and I also see that castilg has not yet sent a print. This all has me thinking that I have always been a big fan of his female figure studies....

All kidding aside, kwmullet, I will gladly wait until it all gets straightened out. Thanks for setting this exchange up.

Will.

I miswrote the address and mine came back to me I will get it back in the mail this week. Sorry john. Nothing gets very far overseas when the mailer put's their own USA zip code on the package. I feel really dumb.
