The photos are all up in the Traveling Camera Project gallery. You will notice some are missing. This is a real shame.[...]
Yeah, no kidding. I took what I thought had potential to be a nice pregnancy portrait of our then 4-year old son and my pregnant wife. Harper was born nine months ago and her brother is five and we were all looking forward to seeing that image.

Maybe on some future round, seeing as how these things are like year-long projects, it might be worth it to circulate something a tad more reliable like a $20 zone-focusing folder. If that works out, the camera could even be recyled through additional rounds.

Signed,

bummed out in Texas.

I asked where the other camera was,

The other camera is leaving here tomorrow headed for Marc Leest. In this round, same as in the last round, I have been unsuccessfull at raising "Snapper". Last round I tried PM, so this time I thought I'd try email, but the address that I had doesn't seem to work, so I've removed him from my address book until he surfaces again and/or starts accepting PM's or emails. I gave up and PM'd Marc Leest this morning. Marc has replied as promptly this time as last time, so the camera is headed overseas by air mail and John (Snapper) is going to miss out again.

cheers

EDIT :: many thanks to Nicole for taking on all the processing work !!!!

Yep, it seems my image was one of those that didn't *make it*, ah well, that's the way it goes sometimes I guess.

It's been fun to look through the images and to try and guess where some of them were taken.

Thanks for the work at the end of the trip Nicole...

Thanks Nicole for all the effort!

It seems like the shot I took didn't make it either. I don't seem to be having much luck with the around-the-world camera thing.... but it was fun to see all the other shots.

I haven't seen this mentioned in the thread, but possible I missed it what with 34 pages of postings to go through.

http://arguscg.tripod.com/argosy1.html

It's a tripod site so look out for the usual pop-ups and general screen polution.

My first post on this forum. I would like to thank the people who initiated this great idea. I was on another forum two days ago and introduced this idea there, and many people were interested into this activity. So I quickly organized 3 teams (camera has 27 shots, each team 25 guys, we leave 2 shots just in case somebody accidently fire the camera), now the 4th team is also on the way. We mainly locate in US 48 states, but we do have one guy from Hawaii, and another guy happens to be in China now, so he will initiate that team, and bring the camera back to US.

Thanks again!

Art,

I check this thread once in a while, which probably makes us the only people who are still interested in the status of this project. It's a little disappointing that this has taken so long and is still far from complete. Everyone seemed so enthusiastic at the beginning, but then interest seemed to wane - probably due to the long waits. Here's what I could figure out from the earlier posts:

"Original" Camera

(...continued from the last status update, first post on page #32)

John Bartley ==>> camera left on Oct 2, 2006 but returned on Oct 25, 2006 (incorrect address?)

Snapper ==>> removed from list due to no responses to emails/PM

Marc Leest ==>> camera arrived on Nov 07, 2006; left on Nov 10, 2006

modafoto ==>> camera arrived on Nov 16, 2006; left on Dec 15, 2006

Rombo ==>> seems to have gone missing from here ***

Graeme Hird
Magpie
Nige
Nicole Boenig-McGrade

I sent a PM to Rombo who is supposed to have the camera and will post his/her response, if any.

Best wishes,
Sanjay
