Does it matter if the gum it self has a brown (maple syrup ) color to it
I have 3 different bottle from 3 different place and they all have deferent colors

Nope! the pigment color will far out weight the color of the gum. I mix my own from powdered gum and it has a honey color. I use thymol as a perservative.
