I’m wondering what type of negative carrier is typically used for Polaroid Type 55 negatives? I checked my standard Besler 4x5 carrier and found the type 55 negative is too wide to fit between the carrier pins. Also, since the type 55 film stock is thin, there may be flatness issues.
Any suggestions?

I trim my negs on the Rotatrim.

If they won't fit it's worth trimming them. Having said that, they fit my Durst carriers OK so I don't bother. Alternately, a glass carrier may be used but I can NEVER get 6 surfaces clear of dust :( .

I use a glass carrier on my D-II.
Alex, i have a filed out 4x5 beseler carrier that works fine with the P55 negative, and a negatron that works as well

I use an Omega E series, which is a 5x7 enlarger. With a glass carrier, it allows you to print Polaroid with the "sloppy edges".

P/N 55 negs fit in my Beseler Negaflat carrier, which addresses the flatness issue as well. The Negaflat carrier is an excellent product, and a good investment. Jay
Thanks to everyone for the tips. Jay, I had not heard of the Negaflat before. Looks like the ideal setup, but pretty pricey at the moment. For now, I'll settle for using my rototrim and maybe picking up a spare standard carrier to modify.

They fit nicely in my DeVere 504 carrier. This is glassless and I dont have any warping issues

I just file the pegs to fit. Lately I've also been sandwiching the negs between pieces of glass in a cheap version of a glass carrier. Works well and didn't cost anything extra.

I like that idea Bosaiya. Thanks.
