It's a long time since I had a Trip 35, but I'm sure it's got a leaf shutter, so X sync (for electronic flash) should be good at all speeds. I think but am not sure that the Trip had a 2-bladed combined aperture/shutter, if so it will work on a program from about 1/500 at f16 to 1/30 or so at f2.8, with no user settings possible.

Thanks.
I found out that when shooting automatic the shutter is either 1/40 or 1/200 and the aperture is from f/2.8-f/22. Manual (flash) it is 1/40 and aperture f/2.8-f/22.

Thanks.
Manual (flash) it is 1/40 and aperture f/2.8-f/22.
I never liked that slow shutter speed in manual mode, so I took mine apart and sped it up. (http://zeropoint.six-something.org/v04/index.php?page=trip_mod)
