Basically follow these guidelines and email your designs to me apug.org@gmail.com

http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/images.aspx

The designs can also go on mugs, hats, etc

Thanks! Sean

Also, I am using cafepress because it seems the easy way, if someone wants to run with this outside of cafepress let me know.

Are we planning on an APUG thong? I could sure use one!

Sean,
do you have any apug.org guidlines?
do you want just the url? or with a tag line?

My plan is to have a basic logo: APUG.ORG - The Analog Photography Users Group

Then load up what others submit as well. Hopefully people will have 10 or so designs to choose from..

Maybe a few weeks for the 1st run, and we can continue to add new logos as needed

Sean, I will use Illustrator or Freehand and layout the way I know most screeners and embroiderers prefer, which is vector art, editable eps.

APUG.ORG

Then written under that, this little nugget from mrcallow;

I think "Luddite Elitists Online" is a bit more ironic. As I recall Ole cop'd the line from my ebay auction which I stole from an insult hurled by a photo.net cur -- so I suspect it is pretty much public domain.

It's ironic. It has history. It tosses their insult right back at them. It's great.

I have a friend who works for a design company which includes in-house t-shirt screen printing. If there is enough interest (25 shirts minimum) I can get a price quote from him. The end result will be of a higher quality than cafe press (I have one of their shirts) and no cafe press logo (don't know if they still brand them or not). Just an idea.

You might try "Popsicle Toes", by Diana Krall and/ or Michael Franks. There is a line in there about taking nude photographs with a Pentax.

One of my favorite "thongs".

Sounds really good to me. Simplicity is always good.

I kinda like the version that Manhattan Transfer did of that tune...

Darn! I would love to contribute, I even have some sketches - unfortunately, my other arts are like my photography: free of computers. If anyone wnats or has a way to see what I have with pen and paper and ink, let me know how and I will get it there!

Aside from that - I think the "Luddite Ellitists Online" is an awesome one - every time I read Ole's posts I have to chuckle at the little tagline! I for one would wear it proudly!

I do have suggestions: how about the image of perforated film running across the shirt, with a graphic logo as the frame, and apug.org printed along the edges of the film as per most negatives? the only thing is, the large contingent of LF folks may feel underrepresented by such a graphic.

What is the one thing that is so uniquely film - yet applicable across the many formats? I kept thinking a lens - but not only is it a bit done to death, but all cameras have lenses - film or otherwise. The only things that come to mind are less than acceptable for public wearing - there is no fixer in digital.. but walking around with that vinegar like stench may not endear us to anyone :)

Peter.

PS edited because I cant type...

Peter:

Actually it could work. How about the film running up & down the shirt on the left side (the side with the pocket), and directly opposite the pocket a 4x5" box complete with notch codes (perhaps the old Tri-X 3 notches, or a similiar one) of course in the upper right corner of the 'sheet' with the words APUG.ORG within the sheet of film?

This way folks that only shoot roll film will have to deal with a sheet of film, and large format folks would have to deal with a filmstrip, shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Another vote for "Luddite Elitists Online". It makes me laugh, and would, ironically, keep people from thinking us elite luddites. Unless they have no sense of humour, but I don't want to talk to them anyway.

Also, another vote for non-café press material. In part because I don't like them (so goes the precedent), but also because I have voted for a black shirt design, and I don't believe they give that option.

I consider myself neither an elitist nor luddite...

I do not think of myself as part of an elite and do not see technology as a huge risk. So a Luddite Elitist T-shirt is not for me. I'd rather go with a simple APUG logo and a "Got Film?".

agree with modafoto, I'd like something simple [like this draft] without luddite or elitest labels
