On september 13 DR. BOB passed away. As one of the original members here and one of my favorite people on the site, this is very sad. His contributions and remarks were always very positive and inspirational. His wife Nina has stated that she will check in periodically so any well wishing PM's can be sent through his space here and will be seen.

Boy, I am sorry to hear that, he was a wealth of knowlege and information and a pure joy to talk on the phone, I spoke with him on the phone a couple of times when he ordered screens and was alway very nice, and had occasion to talk to him in the chat a few times.

Again, sorry to hear this.

I had a PM from Nina this afternoon... Needless to say, I was shocked. I'll miss his contributions and wonderful sense of humor (and sarcasm!). R.I.P. my friend...

The last time I talked to Dr Bob in the chat room we agreed to meet when I was next in Maryland, I would supply the single malt and Bob was to buy lunch. Sadly I'll never have the pleasure of shaking his hand and sharing the malt and lunch but I will toast his memory with a single malt after I've posted this message.

RIP Bob and thank you for sharing.

I also offer my condolences to his family. Unfortunately, I didn't have as much time to get to know him as others here did, but I appreciated his wit and generousity and will certainly miss him.

Paul.

Since it's been a couple of weeks now since his passing, I didn't think that sending flowers was really appropriate. Instead, I just made a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (http://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ipf.htm) in memory of "dr bob" Smith (they'll send the family a letter). If anyone needs his family contact info to send a card or for making donations, drop me a PM.

Good Evening,

Very sorry I never had the chance to meet Dr. Bob. Reading his Forum posts was informative and very much worthwhile, and seeing his photos in the Gallery was enjoyable, too.
