Hi, just joined APUG a week or so ago and like what I see so far. Now, can anyone help me with a problem regarding Nova Processors? I bought one recently (second hand) and when I filled up the slots with water (to flush prior to putting the chemicals in them) I noticed the 4th slot has a small hole at the rear (the side opposite the taps) Its not a crack or anything but a drilled hole. Of course when I put the water in I never noticed (till it merrily spilled out the rear soaking the table it sits on) Do any members know what this hole is for? I have contacted Nova by email a week ago but still no response.

Kind regards
CB

Hi CB

Mine does have to holes on the black side and you should fill it up with water up to thies holes bevor you heate it!
Otherwise the heater element gets brocken!
Hope I did understand you question right!

I have a 3-slot version but on some versions of the 4-slot Novas the right end slot is intended for washing - perhaps that explains the hole?

Cheers, Bob.

The 4th slot is not really a 4th slot but a wash slot. You probably got a Nova Club. The hole is for the injet to take water in. Notice at the top of that 4th slot is also a large hole or a tube? That's for the water overflow. One can add a tube and a plug such as on the front and use it as a 4th chemical slot but its really best used as intended for a quick wash or rinse.

Those holes are there so that one can fill the machine quicker with water. They don't lead to any slot but to the waterbath between the slots. Once the water is filled to level one tends to plug them up.

No, not really I think. Those holes are, I think, high enough up that even if left unplugged and water drained not enough would drain to leave the heating elements exposed. (and YES the machine must be filled with water before the heating elements are turned on).

As JohnArs says, it's to indicate that you have filled the water jacket to the correct level.

Exactly, and never, never plug the machine in before filling these in-between-compartments with water. The heaters will break and you will have to order new ones with Nova. I am speaking from experiance.

Thanks for all the valuable imput everyone, I think it might be something to do with a place to put another tap perhaps. I will be giving Nova a telephone call today to see if they have any bungs for it and to get a definitive answer from them. When I do, I will post it here!
