Hi Michele! Where to begin? You just did! Joining this analog photography users group is a great start. Welcome to a wonderful place to learn and have fun.

Cheers,

Welcome aboard. You've come to the right place. There's a great search funtion (upper right) to get you going on the basics, as well as the various forums to start asking questions.

You may want to occassionally check the (Southeast US) Regional Group forum as well. We've had some great photo trips with local photographers (I'm in Alpharetta). Nothing in the works at the moment, though.

Don't be bashful about asking "stupid questions", we all have 'em. I'm in the Roswell area, we may see you at the next get together!

We put our heads together and decide on a locale to go shooting. We've been to Rocktown and to the Sloss Furnaces so far. Nothing complicated. If you have interesting ideas feel free to get the ball rolling with it, no telling what we may wind up doing!
Seems most of us have darkrooms so if and when the bug bites you theres more than a few around here to show you the ropes. Now go play with your camera and make some interesting mistakes.:)

Hi Michele!!! Welcome to APUG. You may be interested to know that I spent most of Sunday shooting with your cousin (actually got him away from the computer for a day). He is a great fellow.

Are there some particularly great places to go and shoot around Atlanta/ GA Mts. etc...
Maybe a day trip somewhere?

Well...I've never been to Atlanta so I can't answer the question the way you intended it...but if you really spend time thinking about what you are interested in you should be able to take good images in your own house and neighborhood. If you are looking for the dramatic landscape, that can be a bit more restrictive. I have found that my best work is on subjects that I find interesting and that I am familiar with. Good luck and happy shooting.

I notice nobody has actually told you how to do anything...hopefully you need less help from us than you initially indicated!
