I know its not an old camera but I thought some of you guys may be into old vehicles as well. jovo 11-03-2005, 05:44 AM I didn't realize there was a Ford plant in Corfu...;-) df cardwell 11-03-2005, 08:56 AM Looks like a late model Toyota. . Soeren 11-03-2005, 09:00 AM To sell on E-bay " I don't know much about cars but.........." :D Dave Parker 11-03-2005, 09:04 AM Looks to be about a 48 or 49 ford pickup that has seen better days, the for fender supports and rad supports look to be completly rusted out allowing it to droop in the front, but it does indeed look like a late 40's ford pickup, to confirm, if you can get to it, there should be an ident plate possibly still attached under the hood or in the door piller frame that says ford on it, also there are several databases on the net, that you can track the serial number down on, and in that age range it should be in the door piller and could perhaps be on the dash lower side on the drivers side. Could also be a ford that was made for a company in europe and badged with another name, ford did this quite a bit in the late 40's to help get the vehicles into service and help compensate for the destroyed productions capibilities in europe after the war. Dave roteague 11-03-2005, 02:59 PM Looks like a late model Toyota. A Tundra to be exact, would be my guess. Dave Wooten 11-03-2005, 03:08 PM looks like a 49, don't see the air scoop vent , that popped up, though, but it might be there.....are you also wanting to trade it...for a Canham? athanasius80 11-03-2005, 05:46 PM Its a late 40s F1 pickup. I don't know the dates but 1948-1950 will be close enough. Definately been used... jimgalli 11-03-2005, 05:59 PM No Ford. Looks like a '53-'54 Chevy derivative to me. Where is Corfu? Dave Parker 11-03-2005, 06:03 PM No Ford. Looks like a '53-'54 Chevy derivative to me. Where is Corfu? Don't think so Jim, the rad support between the front fenders is to short, looks quite bit different than the 53 I have here, the flat top on the fenders looks alot more like a ford as well.. Dave roteague 11-03-2005, 06:09 PM Where is Corfu? An island off the coast of Greece. jimgalli 11-03-2005, 06:14 PM http://tonopahpictures.0catch.com/f-1.jpg Couldn't resist. I'll probably go to prison for robbing some poor guy's Ebay picture. GM product all the way. '54-5 GMC? Dave Parker 11-03-2005, 06:16 PM Might be.........hmmmm, still has a different look than my '53 though.......it would be interesting to find out, now I am curious. Dave Bill Mitchell 11-03-2005, 09:35 PM I think that the sagging door handle gives it away. Fords and Studebakers always have them. Dave Parker 11-03-2005, 09:43 PM I think that the sagging door handle gives it away. Fords and Studebakers always have them. Bill, I had completely forgot about the Studebakers!!! DOH! and I see quite a few of them around here where I live, they were real prevelant in Canada in the 50's You might be onto something.. Dave laz 11-03-2005, 10:38 PM Wait a second, a '54 GMC? Its mine! It was jacked from the corner of 63rd and Madison back in '72 didn't have any theft insurance either! Charles Webb 11-03-2005, 11:41 PM Deffinitely not a 40 Ford, The hood is all wrong as are the fenders and headlights! I had one purchased by my father in 1940 for $595.00. Charlie........ athanasius80 11-04-2005, 03:25 AM I think I'm wrong, it very well could be early 1950s GMC. The GMC grille was different from Chevrolet. Studebaker had a flat sided hood instead of how this one curves to follow the fender. And Dodge has a two piece hood that folds up the length of the truck. Now if only it were a 1920s passenger car, then I'd really know what to look for. Struan Gray 11-04-2005, 07:28 AM Am I the only one trying to decipher the letters on the front of the bonnet? More detail please. bogeyes 11-04-2005, 08:51 AM Am I the only one trying to decipher the letters on the front of the bonnet? More detail please.I thought they said FORD now I think FIAT, that would explain the rust. nsurit 11-04-2005, 09:16 AM I don't think it is either an American made Ford or Chevrolet of the era suggested. Look at headlights, hood with seam down the middle, name on front of grill, door handles. I am without a clue as to what it is other than to say I don't think it is the American made version of anything. Bill Barber John Koehrer 11-04-2005, 11:13 AM Just looking at the photo, The number of rusted areas over the grill should be a clue, FORD(found on road, dead/fix or repair daily). laz 11-04-2005, 11:28 AM Just looking at the photo, The number of rusted areas over the grill should be a clue, FORD(found on road, dead/fix or repair daily). Or it could just as well be FIAT (Fix It Again Tony) bogeyes 11-04-2005, 12:07 PM Close but no cigar bogeyes 11-04-2005, 12:10 PM forgot to say this is a 1950 Bedford A Type |
