I'm a displaced New Yorker now settled in Dallas (USA) Texas area. I am returning to film after a few years with digital. I gave my Fujifilm s5000 to my grandson.
I'm starting with an eBay purchased Minolta Maxxum with a few lenses. B/W through a 50mm lens is my main choice and will be posting a few for comment.
This seems like a nice bunch. From my google search there are not many film oriented user groups. I hope I can get myself back up to speed on film to meet the group standards.

Welcome to APUG!! I think you'll find that there's a big bunch of great Texas Shooters right close by! They will, I'm sure welcome you into the fold in no time!! Just like this! :D
BTW... this group has no standards, or they'd have never let me in! hahaha ;)

George-we really don't have any standards here on APUG.There are alot of friendly people who will be glad to get you back up to speed. There's also a fairly large Texas contingent here. Welcome back to the real thing...

Welcome George!! From one of the large (:D) members of the Texas contingent!! Greetings from a bit West of you near Ft. Worth. Really is a great group here, check the regional forums and you can get an idea of what we have been up to...but beware we are strange group...from old farts to some of them young uns, but we have a ball and do manage to get out together for an outing once in a while...matter of fact the group met over at Fair Park the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Welcome from the Dallas side! "Photomc" is actually one of the younger "old farts". Seems you have to be between 20 and 30, or 50 and 60. :p
I have no idea what that means.:confused:
