Hi Folks,
I'm subscribed to the magasine called "The International Journal of Fine Art Photography". Previously went by the name of "The Black and White Enthusiast"

http://www.silvershotz.com/magazine/index.php

The latest issue has been supposedly due out for a while now, but I haven't yet received mine. The web site says
"Volume 3, Edition 4 is available mid October " (2005)

I emailed the guy in charge, Clive Waring, over one month ago and he said it would be sent the following week.

I'm Just curious to know if anybody else is waiting on it.

regards
Peter

I picked up Volume 3, edition 3 at my local photo store about a month ago. In my experience it seems to take a while to get to the US. Worth the wait, though.

Cheers, James

Thanks James, but the latest is Edition 4. See the website for it's T.O.C and samples of the photos in it.

I received Vol 3 #4 over a week ago. Great issue (though has long article on digital conversion). The image reproductions are very well done, and I especially like the portfolios of Michael Kennedy & Richard Garrod.

Peter, I understand. I was passing on that edition 3 had just arrived therefore edition 4 would be about a month away. However, I just noticed that you're in Australia and I'm in America so when I expect to see the magazine probably won't do you any good at all anyway.

Cheers, James

I had e-mailed the magazine about a month ago about not receiving Edition Volume 3, Edition 4, but I am happy to state, that I received it this past week (great issue). I am located south Florida.

Was thinking of ordering the collectors set, Volume 2 issues 1-8. Do you guys have all these and if so are they worth purchasing. I subscribe to Lenswork and love it, is it of the same high quality as this 'Journal'

thanks.

I have all of volume 2, and in my opinion they are worth it. As I said here http://www.apug.org/forums/showthread.php?postid=150721#poststop, the vast majority of the articles are analog-centric. The only exception to that is that te last two editions of the magasine (volume 3, ed. 3&4) has contained a 2-part article mentioning dig***l. Even then the title of the article is "Analogue to digital and back. "
I can't remember any of the other previous editions containing any articles about dig***l.
Oh, and I haven't yet read any Lenswork mags.

Peter

Perfect timing. My edition was waiting for me in my letter box from some time yesterday(Sat.) It's now Sunday 7pm and I have just arrived home from the local leash-free park with my 2 dogs, to find my post box full of mail. The posty never delivers mail to us on a Saturday which is why we probably didn't check the box. I guess all the extra Christmas cards and letters (and eBay purchases) placed a backlog at the mail distribution centre.

I'll report back soon with all the good articles and tips.

regards
Peter
