View Full Version : Edward Weston - Life Work Show in Muskegon, MI mfobrien 01-09-2006, 12:04 PM Yesterday I drove out to Muskegon to see the Weston show at the Muskegon Museum of Art. It is a fantastic show. I did a write-up about it on my blog, so I won't reiterate everyuthing here. If you are within a few hours drive, it is a must see. http://randomphoto.blogspot.com/
Went out with my daughter, and two local flickr members, and we had a great time. The snow has all melted, it was sunny, above freezing, so afterwards we spent some time shooting in downtown Muskegon and on the Lake Michigan shoreline. A definite treat for January... billschwab 01-09-2006, 12:09 PM Yesterday I drove out to Muskegon to see the Weston show at the Muskegon Museum of Art.Mark!

Bill df cardwell 01-09-2006, 01:04 PM ooh, baby
ROAD TRIP ! Its an excellent show. I have seen it twice and will again.
Jim PeterDendrinos 01-09-2006, 03:32 PM Yes thanks for the reminder. Looks like it's time for a drive.
Pete Bill Bresler 01-09-2006, 04:13 PM I'm heading west. Sounds like a good show. Eddie Weston has been a photo-hero of mine since I was in jr. high way back in 1968-9. Even though I was a typically brain-damaged adolescent, I recognized that his nudes were something special.
Bill Mike A 01-09-2006, 08:50 PM JEEEEZE! I totaly had a brain fart and forgot, MLKs B-day seems like a good enough day for a road trip. Thanks for the post.
Mike A mfobrien 01-09-2006, 08:58 PM Better make sure they will be open -- I believe they are closed on Mondays, like many museums. blaze-on 01-09-2006, 09:03 PM Heck, I was born there and a few family members there...might be a good reason to visit!
How long does the show run for? mfobrien 01-09-2006, 09:05 PM I believe Feb 5th is the last day. Earl Dunbar 01-10-2006, 09:02 PM Is this the same show that was recently in Rochester at George Eastman House?
Earl photobum 01-12-2006, 05:15 PM When it was in Maine I saw it twice. It was a 400 mile drive oneway. It's that good. df cardwell 01-26-2006, 09:03 PM OK, the Edw Weston show in Muskegon closes Feb 5th
I'm going to be there the 4th.
Anyone else ?
. pretty sure I can make it.
Jim df cardwell 01-27-2006, 07:31 AM pretty sure I can make it.

funny hours, 10 am ~ 4:30 pm
maybe we can share a lunch break ?
don Don
I will be there early Saturday and would like to meet you and any other apugers. A good place for lunch might be Turk's in Nunica, just a few miles east of Muskegon on 96. Maybe hit it on the way out of town.
I hope that anybody that has any interest in EW would see this show. It is outstanding with excellent prints and good lighting. I even purchased a museum membership as a way to support, and say thanks, for having this exhibit.

More proof that we all tend to work on the proper side of the camera !
The show is beyond description: see it if you can !
If you haven't spent time with some real Edw Westons,
you have no clue what B&W is about: we ALL stand on his shoulders.
( looking through the sofa cushions for spare some change ...
