This one looks pretty good... If I didn't already have one (or had space for another one) I'd be seriously considering ....

I bought one of these on eBay three years ago. It was shipped FedEx from the upper peninsula UP Michigan to here, near Cleveland, by way of North Carolina due to some FedEx misrouting in Chicago. It arrived with a four inch crack in the side. It has held water under pressure, but was a bit of a fear at first. Good quality packing is very important.
This is a beautiful tool. I am very happy I bought this, but be sure its trip to new home is done safely.

I made a 12 hour (round trip L.A. to S.F. Bay) drive to pick-up my 20x24 Zone VI washer from a fellow APUGger. Didn't have to worry about mishandling by any shipping companies I do hope that whoever buys the one being auctioned can pick it up personally, save $140.00 in shipping fees and be certain the washer makes it to it's new home in one piece!

Just got done with having to get a refund on a 16x20 kostiner washer that I bought off ebay(shipped in a box with no packaging what so ever and arrived broken in half),didn't get all my money back either. I almost bid on this one but I don't think I could handle another washer buy mishap. I'm on my second try to get a washer. Guess I'll just have to wait for one I can drive and pick up. Sorry just needed to vent.

The eBay Zone VI 20x24 went for $384.00! The buyer got a great deal... now getting the thing safely to his darkroom.....
Sorry Shadow about your bad experience with the Kostiner. I've had many a piece of kit savaged by shipping companies and sellers who don't bother to pack things properly.

A big Salthill print washer I bought on ebay was also destroyed in shipping. The seller, an honorable man, refunded my money. One thing that can help in shipping is to keep the weight of the package down by sending the plastic dividers and any other parts that are detachable in a separate box. Shipping is still risky, though. njb

If you are considering buying a new print washer check out this company- http://www.summitek.com/cascade.html
This guy makes the Cascade washers and has detailed info on the site about how it works and is built. He is quite aware that these items get damaged on occasion and offers the buyer reassurance that getting the item replaced won't be a problem. His prices may be a little lower than Calumet for the 20x24"s.

Another alternative: I like my Versalab. Note the "indestructable" part. :)
