My Visioneer has given up its' last pixel and I'm looking to replace it with an inexpensive flatbed suitable for scanning 4X5 negs and 8X10 prints for Web-site Publishing .

I'm considering the Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 4890.

Does anybody have knowledge of this machine? Is there something under $300 you would rave about?

The Epson store online has reburbished models at nice price. $179 for the 3200 and $199 for the 4870.
