While I usually don't heap mountains of praise on Michael (he has groupies at the ready to do that) I have to say that this little book is unique!

Brilliant in execution, it is a visual feast. And the bio's that each student wrote are priceless! Bravo Michael! A bargain at double the price.

I guess it's safe to say I'm enjoying my read! My photographers soul is drinking it in.

If you don't have it....Get it.

I have two questions, Jim:

1. where in the heck is Deep Springs, and

2. are the students young, pretty, and nude?

;)

Really Ralph.

Some of us photographer types don't care where deep springs is.

1.) Deep Springs College is East of Lone Pine, California quite literally in the center of no-where. Lone Pine is S. of Bishop in the Eastern Sierra.

2.) Yes, No, Not while I was there. There are 26 students and 12 or so faculty. Students are all male. Academically, the college ranks 3rd in the nation. Quite a special place.

Ralph,

Actually, a few are quite pretty, but there is only one nude.

I'm an alumnus myself, and when I was a student from 1984-86, I also made portraits of all the students at Deep Springs. I've posted this before, but a few of us from my class got together at the college a couple of summers ago, and I took a group picture and made a folio with photographs of us from the time we were students--

It appears to be an incredible college. It reminds me of Black Mountain College.
