I'll be wending my way to Arkansas next week, hope to be in the Little Rock area by the 24th or 25th and out to Petit Jean on the 26th and 27th for a family reunion. I'll be bringing my LF gear with me, anyone in the area game for a visit? I have family in Jacksonville and Conway I'll be visiting.

Hi Gary! I live in LR. Give me a "holler" when you get down here and I would enjoy meeting you. I shoot medium format and occasionally 35mm but would love to see a "big gun" up close. PM me and I will give you my cell number.

If you come to Tulsa, Oklahoma let me know. I know, I know, not even close just feeling lonely over here.

Wish I could, but we don't have that much time. Seems someone needs to organise a gathering for that area, eh?

A gathering in this area would be great.

I'm close in Memphis, but the dates won't work for me to run over. I used to Autox at the Petit Jean airport some. Its beautiful country.

Who all lives in Arkansas and where? For the longest time, I thought I was the only APUG member in Arkansas. Where have you guys been?

I live up near Fayetteville.

You folks should be sure your location is entered into your personal data in your profile, that way others can get an idea where you are at. Of course if you want to remain obscure and hidden......

There is a function in the Apug member search that will look up by location, so if you want to be found, be sure you CAN be found.

Hey ya'll!

We are meeting at Petit Jean State Park tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. if anyone is in the area. Campground B, Site 15--look for the silver pop-up camper.

We had fun, we hiked and shot an area called Bear Cave which is a lot like the Rocktown area we have gone to on a Georgia Apug gathering except theres no hike to get to it. You guys have it so easy!:)

A few months out of date here, but wanted to drop a note.

Bruce, who responded in an earlier post, lives not far from me. I'm in Fayetteville. There are several other shooters here in town who have expressed interest in getting together. Bruce and I shoot together as often as we can.

I would be MORE than happy to meet Tulsa folks for some street shooting, as time permits of course. Ditto any others who are within reach of the NWA region.

Near Conway is a great little town called (and don't ask me if I am kidding, it is true), "Toad Suck Ferry". The Arkansas river (I think that's it) over there is beautiful and the lock and dam and highway over it are very majestic in their symetry. It makes for some interesting industrial shooting if you are into that. About 15 minutes away from Conway.

Toad Suck. Bald Knob. Lots of funny names.

Not a bad state to be in, persistent bad reputation aside. Like anyplace, really.

Used to live in Fayetteville, other funny place names are Smackover, Greasy Corner. Hogeye, and Ink. Now live in Florida which also has some interesting names like Two Egg and Yeehaw Junction.

As my good friend in Arkansas says (when we were talking about education/graduation rates), "Thank god for Mississippi"

Arkansas sucks. Stay away at all costs.

How ironic - I moved to Arkansas... from Florida. Florida's great - if they'd get rid of the tourists, I'd move back.

Maybe.

Nah...

I know about that, my brother lives in Conway, so I went out to see the place. I remember actually being there when I was very young and the ferry was still running.

Small move Bryan but a lot closer to some nice territory towards Hot Springs. I lived there for a little while, nice town. I worked at the newspaper then on the web press crew.

In Florida, during the summer you're bothered by mosquitos. During the winter you're bothered by tourists.

But can't complain too much for the Alaska natives are bother by both during the summer and long for the winter even though it is cold.
