I'm making this post to hopefully prevent other unsuspecting photographers from enduring the same trouble. You'll find a related LF Forum thread here (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=18633)

Unfortunately very similar stories are held by David Aschkenas http://tinyurl.com/gyhda and Arlene Love http://tinyurl.com/gg3rr, and who knows how many others that have not made this public.

He's been banned from APUG a couple of times. I've been following the thread on LF as have a few others from here.

You have a pretty good write up on the Large Format forum about all of this.

Do we need to have it here too?

I would have thought the clue was in the name: SPIVak.

The editors can decide. I don't spend much time here, so I have no idea how large the crossover is. Everyone deserves to know about Spivak and his ethics.

Michael, I completely agree, but I think we could avoid a flame war here too.

Seeing that this is posted on photo.net and the large format forum, I think we can kill it here.

David: I haven't seen any flaming. Facts have been stated, suggestions have been made, and Spivak continues to make a fool of himself and a PR nightmare for his magazine.

Since the editor (and it seems PR representative too) has been banned from APUG on several occasions, I believe this is not the right place for a discussion of his ethics or business methods.

The links posted lead to several threads on the same subject, where said editor attempts to justify his decisions.

I say "leave it at that", and we'll lock the thread.
