I was recently out at Sam Vinegar's... of Photorama fame... and he told me to go through some old boxes of chemistry and take what I wanted. There was a small treasure trove of alt process stuff, Silver Nitrate, Palladium Chloride, etc. In there were 2 bags of Oxalic Acid... one marked "Bostick and Sullivan, Van Nuys... that will give an idea of its age. Can anyone out there tell me how I can tell if it is any good? There is no discoloration and it doesn't look any different than recently obtained OA.. still granular and not caked at all.

Thanks in advance!

Bill

Oxalic acid is a stable compound under ordinary use and storage. You should have no problems in using it.
