Doublonnage (Marcel), 1995 (http://membres.lycos.fr/morimura/art_history/ym_rrose01.jpg)

This one is atypically small for a Morimura, measuring 120 x 150 cm, or roughly 4 x 5 feet. I chose it because it is the only work in his Art History series which apes a photograph rather than a painting. But what is the original work of art? Is it Man Ray's photograph, or Rrose herself? Is there an echo in here? Here's the original photograph (http://www.usc.edu/schools/annenberg/asc/projects/comm544/library/images/507bg.jpg), BTW

Thank you. That is really interesting (although I don't like the color version).

Look at those incredible hands in the Man Ray photograph.
