A digital enlarger that takes a digital photo and projects it onto regular photo paper in a wet darkroom. Digital is converting to... analog? ummmm.... sumptin is up.

Noritsu has been doing this for several years now with their commercial processors, I am not surprised to see this from DeVere, in fact if I remember right someone posted something about this last year sometime..

This has been out for some time. There is a lab in New Mexico or Arizona, if I remember correctly, that's using it.

It's also better material for the Gray Area, so I'm moving this thread over there.

This enlarger has been around for at least three years, we also use a lambda for the same purpose. Basically a very large enlarger that runs lasers from digital files to traditional materials.
the deveere enlarger from my knowlege creates a virtual negative that projects onto your paper.
There are some size and resolution issues with the Deveere that pushed us to a Lambda over this system.
Definately worth following as this unit will be popping up in classrooms all over Europe and North America over the next few years.

San Miguel Labs in the States have been using this unit for quite awhile.

This is a wonderful thing if you have the required tens of thousands of US dollars to buy one. My guess is that this a lab thing. No one person could reasonably afford one of these things for occaisional use.
