Anyone interested in a SW WI get together this fall? Sundays and Mondays work best for me, but with a little warning, I can probably arrange other days.

Any day suits me just fine. Hope this works out better than the one I planned.

I am interested, but don't plan around me. It would need to be the weekend for me.

How about Sunday, October 29th?

Any suggestions on a good place to meet?

I can maybe make it then. I'm turning my home into a haunted house for about 50 screaming 6 year olds the night before. If I survive, I can make it. Where will the outing be taking place?

Thanks,

Will

Sounds interesting. What takes place at a Get Together?

That's completely up to us. My idea would be to get together some place pleasant, share some prints, maybe look at some equipment, and generally talk about things photographic.

It looks like Beaver Dam is the most centrally located place to all of use (except for the people in Chicago - sorry)

I'd rather do a shooting outing if possible. But I don't know if there is anything good to photograph in Beaver Dam, though anywhere will be good if there are still leaves at that time.

I'm open for anything though.

Thanks,

Will

My son is at UW-Madison.... If it works to coordinate a visit with him there, I'll try to make it work to attend, too.

The 29th sounds good to me! I am sure we will be back from our travels by then! I'd definitely be into a shooting outing. Looks like Beaver Dam has some interesting architecture. http://www.beaverdamchamber.com/culture.cfm

Now, if you want to meet at a house, I live in Hartland which is also kinda central. :D Always happy to have everyone come here!

I'm open to whatever people would like to do. My main goal here, though, is simply to meet some fellow APUGers; and If my head's under a darkcloth, it's kinda hard to socialize. Down the road it might be fun to do some phototrips, but it's hard to know what people would like, when I don't know them yet :) Meeting at Jeanette's place sounds good, and we could always head out to take some pictures from there. It's near Holy Hill, and no doubt other interesting places.

This is absolutely true, Peter, and I'm serious about meeting here if people would like! :)

I've just discovered I have to teach sunday school that morning, but if I leave Madison at 11:30 or so I can be in Hartland by, what? 1:00?

If anyone wants to carpool let me know. I have a station wagon and maybe my van back from the shop by then. I can carry at least 4 others with equipment.

Thanks,

Will

Yep, 1:00 should get you here! :D

Let me know if everyone decides to meet here & I'll pm you my address... you'll get the added bonus of seeing hubby's canoe and the in-process boat! ;)

I'll bring a bottle of Lagavulin, although by then it might not be completely full.

I'd love to meet fellow photographers. My 16 year old daughter loves to model if anyone wants to do some portraiture. If there is just a wee bit of room I can bring a light and a background canvas. Maybe I can even talk the elusive Grace Cox and her Mom into coming! (Remember them Jeanette?) Also some close ups of the boat and canoe could be cool as well!

If we're going to set up an impromptu studio, I can provide a Sinar P 8x10 (and 4x5) for people to use. We can all be Avedon for a day. I also have two Photogenic monolights, but I haven't been able to find my mid-sized soft box lately. If someone has one, please bring it along.

Well, there's plenty of space here... I can contribute the solatubes in the kitchen or living room! ;)

Since I am going out of town in the morning... the 'grand southwest tour' as it were... I'm going to pm Peter my address, and I'll let him pm it to everyone who's coming. I should be able to get online during our travels, so I'll keep checking this thread and my pms.

I would also be willing to host at my studio if it helps at all.
Lot's of speedos and lighting, 2000 square feet, on the isthmus in Madison. I still have to see if I'm free on the 29th though.

Peter just reminded me it's official at Jeanette's. Sounds great! Thanks for hosting it. Maybe next time in Madison, if people are interested.

If anyone needs Jeanette's address, please let me know.

On a related note, I went photographing at Holy Hill yesterday. The trees are very close to full color. If you want to catch these, don't wait too long, as a number of trees are already losing their leaves.
